Weaver ants....aughhhh!Posted by Mazrul Hisyam (Johor, Malaysia) on 8 June 2007 in Animal & Insect. This is a Weaver ants ... or locally known as Kerengga, easily found at my village back yard . I hate when they sting me. So just a word of advise...look at those jaw...awwww! Info on Weaver ants.. Weaver ants or Green ants (genus Oecophylla) are social insects belonging to the ant family, known for their communication and nest building behaviour. Weaver ants are social insects that have complex bio-chemical communication and make elaborate nests out of living tree-leaves. Weaver ants are found in the tropical forests of Africa and southeast Asia.
